The Matthews Medium Duty Maxi Kit Stand combines professional-grade durability with field-friendly design, making it the go-to choice for photographers, filmmakers, and content creators who demand reliability on set. Available in two versions, the Chrome/Steel model supports up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg) with a total weight of 9 lbs (4 kg), while the Black Aluminum version supports 25 lbs (11 kg) and weighs just 8.5 lbs (4 kg)—ideal for travel or quick setups. Built entirely from nuts and bolts, every part of the Medium Duty Maxi Kit Stand can be replaced in the field, extending its life far beyond typical stands. The V-Shaped brake system provides three points of contact on every riser and spider casting, ensuring a rock-solid lock and eliminating unwanted creep. With steel legs and risers for strength, aluminum braces and castings for weight reduction, and a 5/8" baby pin for universal light fixture compatibility, this stand delivers Matthews’ signature performance from the studio to the street.

  • Two Configurations: Chrome/Steel – 30 lb capacity, 9 lb total weight, higher strength for heavier fixtures; OR Black Aluminum – 25 lb capacity, 8.5 lb total weight, lighter for travel setups.
  • Industry-Leading Stability: Exclusive V-Shaped Brake provides three points of contact on each riser for an ultra-secure lock.
  • Fully Replaceable Parts: Constructed entirely with nuts and bolts so every component can be serviced or swapped if damaged.
  • Professional Build: Steel legs and risers paired with aluminum braces and castings for optimal strength-to-weight balance.
  • Universal Mounting: 5/8" baby pin fits all standard light fixtures and accessories.
  • Compact & Portable: Folds to just 36" (920 mm) in length and 3" (76 mm) in base width for easy transport.
  • Trusted Grip Heritage: Built by Matthews Studio Equipment, the original Hollywood Grip Company—trusted for over 55 years.
